Sling TV has a lot of college football at the best price around. But there’s a lot that Sling doesn’t have, which makes it hard to show people that it has a lot of college football.
Sling doesn’t have every channel. Nor does it air every conference. Or every game. Or local channels in most markets. Or the rights to use NCAA intellectual property of just about any kind in its marketing. Its category leaders & arch rivals have…pretty much all of those things.
Look, I get it. Sling’s not for everyone. But for the right fans in the right locations, Sling TV’s football coverage is a screaming deal with damn good coverage. To earn a little credibility and break through to them, we decided to show that Sling’s serious about its football fandom and coverage. We tapped into the deep well of college football IYKYK fandom, recreating some of the sport’s most iconic plays. The team used a bajillion cameras shooting at once (IDK i’m not a producer) + the real radio calls to reenact classic plays and make a pretty compelling case that Sling’s real about college football.
Did it work? Sling had its most new signups ever during the first weekends of college football (and the NFL) this year, with this campaign as the new variable in the mix.
Here’s the TV spot.
